1. Husk the ears of corn and remove silk.
2. Fill a kettle about 1/2 full with water.
3. Bring water to a boil.
4. Place husked corn in the boiling water.
5. Return the water to a boil and keep it gently boiling for 2-3 minutes.
6. Remove ears of corn from the water.
7. Allow the ears of corn to cool slightly before serving.
7. Serve warm spread with butter and sprinkled with salt, if desired.
